1. Information We Collect

Lovable BBQ collects the following information to provide our service:

  • Location Data: We access your device's GPS to find nearby BBQ restaurants and verify check-ins. Location is used only while the app is in use and is not tracked in the background.
  • Photos: When you choose to add photos to a check-in, we upload them to our secure storage. Photos are only shared on the restaurant's community gallery within the app.
  • Account Information: We store your display name, avatar, and authentication tokens provided through our OAuth sign-in (Google or Apple).
  • Check-In Data: Restaurant name, location coordinates, timestamps, and any notes you provide when checking in.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Display nearby BBQ restaurants on the map
  • Verify your proximity for check-ins (within 150 meters)
  • Track your BBQ visits and award badges
  • Display your stats on the global leaderboard (with your permission)
  • Show community photos on restaurant detail pages

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage and secure authentication. Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access-controlled signed URLs. We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. The following information may be visible to other users:

  • Your display name and avatar on the leaderboard (if you opt in)
  • Check-in photos on restaurant community galleries

You can opt out of the leaderboard at any time in Settings.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Google Maps & Places API: Used to display maps and search for BBQ restaurants. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase: Backend database and authentication provider.
  • Lovable Cloud Auth: OAuth provider for sign-in.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app's Settings page. Upon deletion, all check-ins, photos, and profile information will be permanently removed.

7. Children's Privacy

Lovable BBQ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
